Learning for Life including PSHE & RSE
In Learning for Life (LfL) we cover topics found with PSHE (Personal Social Health and Economic and SRE (Sexual Relationship Education).
This covers topics such as how banks work, what are interest rates? Preparing students in year 9 for options. We also cover careers, hygiene, how to build positive relationships, how to eat healthily, sexual education, mental health, racism etc. It is an extremely broad subject, in which we prepare our students for their future beyond New Barn School. We use a wide variety of sources to help support our lessons, for example the NHS, CEOPs, The National Autistic Society, Young Minds and the PSHE Association. We also have visitors in school to help support our LfL curriculum and include our local Community Police Officer PC Scott.
